Frequently Asked
Questions
Everything you might want to know before you book.
Do you take walk-ins?
Tattoos at Skeleton Crew are by appointment only — walk-ins are not currently accepted for tattoos due to demand. The exception: Mike occasionally announces walk-in availability on Fridays through the shop's Facebook. Those slots fill the same day they're posted.
How do I book a tattoo appointment?
Easiest way is to message the shop on Facebook (link is on every page) or call (812) 410-5935. Tell us the idea, rough size, placement, and which artist you'd like if you have a preference. We'll get you set up.
What does it cost?
$100 shop minimum (smallest tattoo we'll do) and $150/hr for larger and custom work. We'll quote a realistic range during your consult so there are no surprises at the chair. Gift cards available in any amount $100 and up.
Do you take cards?
Cash only. There's an ATM nearby if you need to grab cash before your appointment.
Do you do cover-ups?
Yes — cover-ups are one of the things JR is best known for. Bring photos of the existing tattoo when you reach out and we'll talk through what's possible. Reworks of faded or amateur work from another shop are also fair game.
Are piercings available?
Piercings have been part of the shop in the past, but availability varies depending on whether a piercer is currently on staff. Call before you drive in so we can give you an honest answer.
How old do I have to be?
Indiana law requires you to be 18 to get a tattoo. We do not tattoo minors, including with parental consent.
How long does a tattoo take?
Small pieces can be one short sitting; larger custom work may need multiple sessions over weeks or months. We'll give you a realistic time and price estimate during your consultation.
Where are you located?
120 N Franklin St, Apt 1/2 in downtown Greensburg, Indiana. Easy to find — parking on the street and in nearby lots. Wheelchair accessible, free WiFi, and bike parking out front.
What are your hours?
Closed Sunday and Monday. Tuesday through Saturday 12 PM – 8 PM. We just reopened after a remodel — fresh paint, new flooring, and upgraded everything.
Is the shop clean?
Single-use needles, autoclaved tools, and fresh barriers on every chair. We're licensed, serious about the work, and just finished a top-to-bottom remodel of the studio so you'll see it cleaner than it's ever been.
